Continued from Day 4
Day 6 - July 15, 2007
- As Day 6 drew to a close, the players who will duke it out for the title will consist of Phillip Hilm, Tuan Lam, Jon Kalmar, Raymond Rahme, Lee Childs, Lee Watkinson, Hevad Khan, Jerry Yang and Alex Kravchenko. The 16th will be a day of rest and the final table will take place on the 17th.
- Scotty Nguyen exited the 2007 World Series of Poker after losing out to Phillip Hilm. Nguyen finished in 11th spot.
- After not playing a hand in what seemed like eternity, Hevad Khan scared off all comers at his table after he dropped $800k. The player also known as "RaiNKhAN" graciously thanked his opponents.
After Ryan Elson dropped $375k, Nguyen went All-in. Elson called, Scotty flipped over AS-QH and Elson revealed a pair of 10s. The board gave Nguyen another Ace and his stack came close to $3.5 million.
- With only one former champ remaining, Scotty Nguyen asserted his authority on one hand.
- Level-25; blinds-$30,000/$60,000; players left-36, let Day 6 begin.
- The final table is one day away (technically with tomorrow an off day).
Day 5 - July 14, 2007
- Day 5 ends.
- The person who was chip leader earlier in the day, Dag-Martin Mikkelsen is out, knocked out by David Tran.
- Gus Hansen busted out after losing out to Jason Koshi. Hansen finished in 61st place.
The board gives Bergren another King to match the one in his pocket and offers no help to Seed.
Seed had 7H-8C and Bergren has AD-KD.
Seed dropped $250,000 pre-flop and was seen and raised by Bergren, who went All-in.
- Huck Seed could not repeat his 2006 feat (where he took the Main Event), going bust after a battle with Robin Bergren.
- With the level at 22 and the blinds set at $15,000/$30,000, Dag-Martin Mikkelsen and Lee Watkinson flip flopped with Mikkelsen again on top as chip leader.
Brenes went bust and finished in 83rd place.
- Hevad Khan rained on Humberto Brenes' parade, when he flashed pocket Aces after Brenes' revealed AH-KH after going All-in.
- Dag-Martin Mikkelsen no longer is the chip leader. The honor now belongs to Lee Watkinson who has $4.6 million worth of chips. Mikkelsen isn't far behind in second though, with $4.5 mill.
The young Italian revealed his suited cards and Silber delivered the KO with pocket 3s. Minieri went down for the count when the river card wasn't a spade.
With the flop TS-5D-3S, Minieri plopped down $100k to which Silber called. The turn revealed a 7C and Dario went All-in and again Silber matched his opponent.
- With his chip lead back on Day 4 a distant memory, Dario Minieri went belly up at the WSOP. Holding suited Q-8 (spades) the Italian Stallion fell short of a flush, with Reagan Silber the player who pulled the Apollo Creed a la the first Rocky.
- With the field whittled, Day 5 begins with 14 tables averaging 9 players each (112 players in all), blinds are $10,000/$20,000.
- The end draws nigh, let Day 5 begin.
