The 411 On Annette_15
Annette Obrestad came out of nowhere to take the WSOPE

Because poker includes elements of luck as well as strategy and psychology, the better known poker players in the world are often at the rail at the final table of the World Series of Poker.

The names Johnny Chan, Howard Lederer, Annie Duke, Jennifer Harman, Doyle Brunson are only a few of the names that make up the poker playing pantheon , but they were all notably absent from the 2007 WSOP’s Main Event final table—won by little known Jerry Yang.

It was a similar situation in the inaugural World Series of Poker Europe in London, England this past weekend.

Texas Dolly, Howard Lederer, Annie Duke and Gus Hansen all fell by the wayside and when the smoke cleared after the final table, the youngest person to ever win a WSOP bracelet was still standing.

Annette Obrestad, or Annette_15 to the initiated, went toe-to-toe with hometown hero John Tabatabai and after approximately two hours added the top prize of £1 million to her bankroll.

Here are some facts about the first ever WSOPE champ:

- The 15 of her username of Annette_15, refers to the age in which she started playing poker.

- She was born on September 18, 1988 in Sandnes, Norway.

- In a related note, she took home the WSOPE a day before her birthday and you might say she gave herself a helluva birthday gift.

- She made her bones on PokerStars and Ultimatebet.

- She contributes to the cardplayernorge blog.
