Diary of a beginner 2
Having been fairly successful at my efforts at video game poker and having registered for a Freeroll tournament later in the week, I decided to gain more experience playing at a Play Money table at Doyles Room.com.
I had heard that the competition was soft and that appealed to me as a player with no serious experience. The pace was a little faster, but I learned some new terms like muck. I mucked up a couple of hands at the table but managed to make a profit.
Playing at a table with a Holdem limit table, I set out to cut my chops at online poker.
When all was said and done, I managed to make it out with my shirt intact and I learned some new things too.
Before today, “Muck” was only something that was in the swamp, but after the online poker experience, I now know that it refers to the dead pile in front of the dealer.
I came out with a Play Money profit, but got beaten on a hand where I had a Flush, but another player had Four of Kind.
The competition was soft so I didn’t have to worry about getting schooled by experienced players.
Next up, my first free roll.
