2007 WSOP Championship Event (No. 55) Updates
07 Jul 07

Continued from Day 1a

Day 1b - July 7, 2007

- Day 1b draws to a conclusion.

- Speaking of "The Simpsons", Sam Simon, who helped co-create the popular series won $60,000 with a pair of ladies.

- Blinds increase to $300/$600.

The opposing player has pocket As and Mizrachi has pocket 5s. The turn is 10S and the river JS. Give it to Robert.

With the flop revealing 2D-5C-4C and the player lays down $6000 after Mizrachi checks.

- Michael Mizrachi's older brother Robert bet $1200 pre-flop and another player sees that and raises $1800, to which the elder "Grinder" calls.

- Kathy Liebert was eliminated shortly after Fischman.

- Scott Fischman goes All-in with K-7 of spades in the pocket and sees an early exit.

The player eventually won the hand though.

A dealer—who for the record is named John—miscalculates the number of All-ins leading to a conference between players, the floor manager and dear John with a player refusing to throw in an extra $1000.

Remember that episode of "The Simpsons" where Homer is a Blackjack dealer and his incompetence allows his table to win every hand he deals? Something similar happened at this year's WSOP.

- After getting moved to a different table, Jen Mason sees herself the leader of the table.

- Blinds increase to $200/$400

- Howard Lederer is out of the 2007 WSOP.

- Blinds increase to $100/$200.

- On the turn at Doug Kim's table, he went All-in with a player in seat 10. 4-5-8-3 is on the table. The player is holding a pair of 3s and Kim has 3-5 of Clubs. The river is a 5, giving Kim a trio of 5s and the win.

- Day 1b sees the appearance of 2005 champ Joe Hachem at this year's championship event. Hachem has partaken in a number of 2007 WSOP events but has yet to make a final table.

- In what some say is a rare occurrence, three ladies are seated at the same table and they are Sabyl Cohen, Jen Mason and an unnamed player.

- Day 1b begins with blinds at $50/$100.

Days 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 2a, 2b, 3, 4, 5-6, Final
